Programme evaluation (Year 2)

ImpactEd were commissioned to carry out an independent evaluation of the Latin Excellence Programme and have published the Year 2 interim evaluation report.

The report explores how the LEP has grown in its second year, and draws on both quantitative and qualitative data collected throughout 2024/25 to understand some of the impact that the LEP has been having on pupils, teachers and schools.   

We are very proud of all that has been achieved over the last two years and are extremely grateful to all the schools, teachers and pupils that have worked so hard to make the programme a success.

What do the pupils think about learning Latin?

“I like how we do the stories in Latin... it really helps to understand the grammar” (Year 9)

“I wanted to learn [Latin] because I was really interested in stems of words” (Year 9)

“It's interesting learning about the past, while also learning languages” (Year 8)
