ENRICHMENT
As part of the Latin Excellence Programme, the Centre organises and funds enrichment activities and trips for participating students.
Fable competition: The Young Aesopi fable competition runs during the summer term. Students in their first year learning Latin (usually year 7) compose an original fable in Latin to compete for prizes.
The 2023 and 2024 contests had many excellent entries, and winners were selected by a panel including Professor Mary Beard. The winners were awarded with Classics books and Latin Excellence Programme Roman-style coins.
Study trips: Throughout the programme students will have opportunities to visit areas of interest both within the UK and internationally. Over the last year we have supported trips to Bath, York, Hadrian’s Wall, Rome and Pompeii. You can find out more about some of these trips here.
