LEP Teacher Conference

The Latin Excellence Programme held its first Teacher Conference at Pimlico Academy, London, on 2nd December 2024.

We were delighted to be joined by almost 50 Latin Excellence Programme teachers from across the country.  We are very fortunate to be working with such committed and invested teachers!

The theme was ‘All students knowledgeable and motivated’, and sessions covered a range of topics, including motivated Latin teaching, modelling, formative assessment, choral reading, securing vocabulary retention and teaching for long-form questions.

Throughout the day there was a strong emphasis on low-stakes practice, with feedback from our expert teachers. It was great to see our colleagues engaging with such enthusiasm and good humour.

Just the right environment was created for teachers to learn.

We look forward to following up on the ideas and techniques covered at the conference during Lead Teacher visits throughout the year.
