South West Regional Hub Day: A celebration of Language, Culture and Collaboration

Wednesday 13th March 2024 saw teachers of Latin gather for the first South West Hub Latin Teachers' Day, hosted by Callington Community College. The event provided a platform for teachers to become acquainted with each other and discuss the vision for Latin in the South West.

Key highlights of the day included:

· Attendees engaged in lesson observations and discussions on the significance of Latin language and culture.

· Participants had the chance to connect with colleagues, share experiences and build professional relationships.

Latin teachers from a variety of disciplines (History, English and MFL) attended the event, which aimed to empower all teachers with the tools and knowledge to inspire a new generation of Latin learners.

‘We are thrilled to bring together Latin teachers for a day dedicated to the appreciation and advancement of Latin education,’ said Charlotte Campbell, Vice Principal. ‘Latin is not just a language; it's a gateway to understanding history, literature, and culture. Through this event, we aim to empower all teachers in the South West Hub with the tools and knowledge to inspire a new generation of Latin learners.’
